In this months blog post we discuss the increase in popularity for the online Zoom guitar lesson. We will try to answer all questions we regularly get asked about this service and maybe settle your nerves enough to give them a go.
We are all getting pretty familiar now with the online Zoom quizzes and home schooling. Zoom is actually a fantastic platform to conduct guitar lessons from also. This is not new to us either, we’ve always offered this service, but only recently due to current situation has it become really popular.
Learning guitar online is a really great way to study. You are no longer restricted by the area of your tutor and it means you can take your lesson without leaving the comfort of your own home. No longer do you have to rush your child to a lesson after school, often arriving late and missing a proportion of your lesson time.
There are pros and cons as always with both of these services but a Zoom guitar lesson does offer some huge benefits to the student also. All of our students are welcomed to record the lesson so they can refer back to this later in the week when practicing. We have noticed this has made a huge difference to the quality of the students practice and have noticed students progressing faster.
Multiple camera angles allows us to show you exactly what is going on with our right and left hands. This is great for the real intricate details that are really crucial to making great progress.
The downsides are that unfortunately you are unable to jam together as one guitar will cancel out the other when played at the same time. A little frustrating but we’ve learnt to work round this really well. We now ask students to jam along to backing tracks or we take it in turns for demonstration and playback. The obvious downside is that you are not in the same room as your tutor so a little more difficult to try out any new gear or make tone tweak suggestions.
Very occasionally we have the odd lesson that has interruption due to poor connection. Mostly though the internet is really stable and great lesson quality throughout. We also test this at your first lesson and will never charge for a lesson unless the quality is top notch.
We have made everyone feel at home and relaxed at every lesson. We understand that taking lessons online can be a slightly daunting experience at first. We guarantee though you’ll forget about this really quickly once you settle into the lesson.
We send out your lesson link via email before the lesson time. All you have to do is click the link and that’s it. We manage the whole lesson so there really is nothing to be concerned about. If anything isn’t working quite right we have dealt with all the little niggles before and can quickly suggest how to fix.
We are really confident you will love your online experience with us. We are offering a FREE no obligation trial lesson so you can experience the online platform for yourself and see what you think. If you really do hate it, nothing lost and once out of lockdown you can return to in person lessons. We are unsure of when this will be though, so don’t let lockdown hinder your guitar playing progress. Instead why not leave lockdown shredding across the guitar like Slash.
